Why we started Golfmates…..

As a keen golfer who works shifts, I have found that despite having many friends who played golf, it is sometimes difficult to find an available golfing partner, particularly at short notice. I also found it difficult to play alone at the busy times and especially weekends, as a lone golfer has no standing.

As golf is a social sport most of us are only too happy to play new golfers, so the idea to form Golfmates seemed a natural progression, and I saw a niche in the market for this type of service.

My experience as a novice to the Internet was that many websites were confusing and disappointing, many of them being fussy with too many adverts and pop ups and not enough information for which you firstly logged onto that site to see. The Golfmates website has been designed to be as straight forward as possible with a simple 'site login', followed by 'Counties' and 'Clubs' listings to shortlist the area you wish to play in, followed by our list of members in that area.
